About Lignin
Founded
2023
Lignin was founded in 2023 with a clear purpose: to develop high‑integrity environmental planting projects that deliver real climate impact and meaningful benefits for nature.
We specialise in establishing and managing projects under the Commonwealth Emissions Reduction Fund (ERF), generating Australian Carbon Credit Units (ACCUs) through scientifically robust, nature‑positive land restoration.
Our Mission
Our work is grounded in ecological integrity. Lignin designs and implements environmental plantings that restore native vegetation communities, rebuild habitat for threatened species, and improve the long‑term health and resilience of Australian landscapes.
Projects are tailored to local conditions and guided by best‑available science, ensuring that carbon sequestration is achieved alongside measurable biodiversity and ecosystem outcomes.
Lignin exists to prove that carbon projects can do more than offset emissions. They can regenerate landscapes, protect wildlife, and create enduring environmental value for future generations.
Our Approach
We take a hands‑on approach to project stewardship, from species selection and site preparation to ongoing monitoring and adaptive management. This commitment ensures that each Lignin project not only removes carbon from the atmosphere but also enhances soil function, strengthens habitat corridors, and supports the recovery of vulnerable ecosystems.
By re‑establishing locally adapted plant communities, our projects strengthen biodiversity corridors and enhance landscape resilience, supporting thriving ecosystems and safeguarding wildlife for generations to come.
Scientific rigour
Every project guided by best-available science and land management techniques.
Ecological integrity
Locally adapted species, tailored to site conditions and long-term landscape health.
Enduring value
Carbon sequestration that goes beyond offsets — creating lasting environmental outcomes.
Lignin manages an ERF-registered environmental planting project in mid-north NSW, with more projects to come.
